The artwork represents a small monkey with a cheeky grin, perched on the top of a railing, watching the world go by. In 1934, 12 Rhesus monkeys escaped from Bristol Zoo. Over a weekend they were spotted all over the city, with one even entering a Clifton College dormitory. The final monkey was on the run for almost a week before zookeepers managed to lure him back to captivity with a trail of food.
