IZAAK WALTON / This statue of Stafford-born Izaak Walton, author, biographer and angler, / was presented to the people of the town by the Staffordshire Newsletter / to commemorate the second Millennium by Managing Director, Peter Atkins and accepted on their behalf by the Mayor of Stafford, Councillor Peter Bruce. / It was funded by staff and readers of the Staffordshire Newsletter / with support from Staffordshire County Council’s Public Art Fund. / Unveiled by Lord Iliffe, Chairman of Yattendon Investment Trust Plc., / proprietors of Staffordshire Newsletter Ltd, on 5 September 2000. Modelled by Peter Walker, a student at Stafford College / Cast by Morris Singer Ltd.
