Coloured lithograph divided diagonally, with the top painting depicting "Then, Captain Cook leaving in the Endeavour, 1768" with people waving from the quayside to the departing ship. The 'Now' illustration depicts the same view across the harbour towards St Mary's Church, with sailing vessels in the harbour, and an elegantly dressed couple talking to an old fisherman. The text reads "Whitby, It's quicker by rail". Printed by Ben Johnson & Company Limited, York and London. Format: double royal
