This painting by Michael Ford shows Italian Prisoners of War gathering onions in an Overton field. The artist was born and lived in Overton in Hampshire. The prisoners wore distinctive brown uniforms
with large orange patches. The nearest Prisoner of War camps were at Whitchurch and Popham.
