Six sketches mounted together and used as a book illustration in \'Journal and Drawings\'. The upper drawing is a group of standing nude male figures. Three are viewed face-on and two from the rear. The four small sketches in the centre are of a seated male figure viewed from varied angles and in slightly different poses. The lower drawing is of two hens in a shed / coup. The open door to the shed has a latch and a horseshoe hangs above the door. The six sketches were mounted on a single piece of paper with a date and a title. The background paper has wash with the notes written in white paint. Reproduction of line drawings with hatching for selected dark areas in two of the sketches
