In 2012, the year of the Olympics in London, Jack Gardner was determined that his sculpture of interlocking rings would take pride of place in Bruce Castle Park. With the help of his two grandsons, it was erected outside the north elevation of Bruce Castle Museum, using the plinth of the former nineteenth-century drinking fountain.
