This reduced copy after a 1568 original most likely dates from the 17th century. The traditional title, which translates as 'The Nativity Scene of San Giuseppe', reflects that the original painting was made for the Church of San Giuseppe in the artist's native village of Bassano del Grappa. The subject is an Adoration of the Shepherds with Saints Vittore and Corona (the saints being the man in armour and the blonde woman standing beside him, the co-patrons of the Church of San Giuseppe).
