Henry Joy McCracken was an Irish Republican and industrialist, and a founding member of the Society of the United Irishmen. He was also the founder of the Belfast Harp Festival and from a family of news writers, who created the 'Belfast Newsletter'. McCracken famously led the insurgents at the Battle of Antrim on 7th June, 1798, and was executed on 17th July of that year in Belfast's Cornmarket.
