A wall mural and memorial to the disaster which caused the deaths of more than 240 people and destroyed 5,000 homes in 1864. The design features objects and symbols based on insurance claims of local people. One object is a grandfather clock set to a few minutes before midnight, the time on 11th March 1864, when the wall of Dale Dyke dam collapsed.

ON PART OF THIS SITE / STOOD MALIN BRIDGE / FARM, KNOWN LOCALLY / AS TRICKETT’S FARM / In 1864 the farm suffered terribly in / “The Great Sheffield Flood” when the / farmhouse and most of the outbuildings were / demolished. All the 10 occupants perished. (Names) / These carvings are based on insurance / claims by nearby households and businesses / who lost property and livelihoods in the flood. / Artist Steve Roche, 2021
