View looking out to sea towards Godrevy Lighthouse in Cornwall. The beam of the lighthouse reflects on the shore as the waves gently lap the sands, forming a pool around rocks in the foreground. Across the water, hills are visible on the horizon, and in the centre, the bright illumination of the lighthouse can be seen as it looks out to sea. The night sky is calm, with scattered stars visible amongst the clouds.

Exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1903, the title in the catalogue is followed by "Across the moonlit waters flashes the Light of man's inhumanity to man".
