This vibrant painting is one of a large number of works by Adrian Berg showing a view of Regent's Park from his studio in Gloucester Gate. As with many of Berg's paintings, a number of different views are incorporated into one picture. To see each view properly, the canvas would need to be turned around several times. Berg was born in London, where he studied art in the late 1950s and early 1960s. He has taught art in several institutions and has exhibited widely. He was made a Royal Academician in 1992 and an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Art in 1994.
