Redevelopment of Broomfield Hospital's courtyard has been focused to provide a therapeutic garden environment for patients. Providing a sensory garden is highly regarded as one way that health and social care providers can help people with dementia to live more active and stimulating lives and have positive hospital experiences. A life-size sculpture of a child playing in the lawn is integral to the design by embracing reminiscence therapy to evoke positive emotions in patients with dementia.
