To the west of the church is a tower surmounted by a stepped pyramidal steeple designed according to ancient descriptions of the Tomb of Mausolus at Halicarnassus. It is topped with a statue of George I in Roman attire. Around the four corners of the steeple are four massive heraldic beasts; two lions and two unicorns which were restored in 2006.
