Painting depicting a view of narrow streets, seen through an arched gateway in Siena. In front of the gateway, to the left, two women are sitting on a doorstep with two small children facing them, one wearing a red hat. The individuals in the painting appear small in comparison to the grand scale of the architecture. The brick work is in light brown, through the arch there is a bell tower visible as well as other buildings. People can be seen through the arch, descending the slope.
