At right of image is a table covered with a cloth and laden with documents, white feathers, an inkpot and other objects. A woman stands to left of the table. She bends over the table to sign a document which lies open upon it. The woman is bare-headed, her hair tied into a bun behind her head. She wears a long-sleeved black dress which reaches the floor and has a covering of white material across the shoulders, the upper chest and the upper back. The woman holds a white quill in her right hand, her left hand resting upon the document. To left of the woman is an armchair which stands upon a low platform.
