Mayne developed this exploding white Yorkshire rose wall frieze, during his research process for the commission for St Marks student residences, part of the University of Leeds campus. As a starting point, Mayne researched nearby Woodhouse Moor, which has boasted an ornamental flower garden since the early 1880s. 'Exploding Rose' is paired with 'Reflector Wall', a wall frieze on the opposite side of the residence.
