A waisted obelisk shaped like a gas flame, and a convex mirror set into the side facing the sea, supported by a drum-shaped pedestal bearing inscriptions and engraved local scenes. All are standing on a paved area in which a circle of raised inscriptions is carved and images of a prawn and a trilobite are set. The names of those memorialised are etched on the sloping tops of bollards surrounding the work.
