Emma' was one of two 'lost' statues recreated by sculptor Andrew Sinclair when Alexandra Park was refurbished in 2004. The original statue of Emma 'The Flower Girl' holding a basket of flowers, situated inside the main entrance of Oldham’s Alexandra Park, probably dated from when the the park opened in 1865. It was certainly in place at the time of the 1879 OS map. On 30th June 1966 a newspaper reported that 'Emma has gone'. The statue had disappeared, never to be seen again.
