black lettering on a metal plaque, affixed beneath the sculpture: Emily Valentine – 1877–1967 / 'Omnes Honorate' or ' Honour all men' is the school motto / of Portora Royal School, in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland. / 'With a fine disregard for the rules,' 10 year old Emily Valentine / did precisely the opposite, convincing the boys to let her join / a game of rugby in 1887.
