Geoff Yeomans was born in Birkenhead and attended the Laird School of Art. He taught in a variety of schools and colleges and lives in South Wales. One of the series of 'Sindy' doll paintings, the figure posed as the nymph Io from Correggio's painting of 'Jupiter and Io', a painted version of which is shown on the left. Jupiter appeared as a cloud of smoke to rape Io, the cloud here represented by a rubber glove.
