A square stone base surmounted by a Celtic cross with Celtic-style decoration on the west face of the shaft. The work is a memorial to two Jacobite earls – James, 3rd earl of Derwentwater, and his brother, Charles, 5th earl, who joined the northern Jacobite insurrection.
