The painting depicts a Longhorn bull, with Shugborough in the background. The painted inscription tells us that this is: 'Earl of Upton 7th winner of 3rd prize R.A.S.E. Birmingham 1876.' Edward Brown was a Coventry-based painter of livestock and hunting scenes.
