The 'Duke of Connaught' was a twin-screw steamer built by John Brown and Company, Clydebank in 1902. She was 1714 gross tons and 315 feet long when registered. Her speed was 20 knots and there was accommodation for 900 passengers. She was built for the Fleetwood to Belfast Royal Mail Route and was owned by the Joint Railways (London and North Western, and Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway companies) and later by the London Midland and Scottish Railways, after amalgamation in 1923. She is flying the house colours of the Joint Railways. In 1928 the 'Duke of Connaught' was transferred to the Heysham to Douglas Route, then to Goole for the Hull to Zeebrugge Route in 1930. She was scrapped in 1934.
