The artist, Elizabeth Adams attended Bourneville School of Art (Ruskin Hall) and Stourbridge College of Art. She studied graphics at Birmingham College of Art and after graduating worked in advertising agencies in Worcester, London and Guernsey before teaching Art and Design for 21 years at Elizabeth College. The three portraits of College principals were painted close to their departure in keeping with the tradition of recording the history of the College. Two paintings of Guernsey Bailiffs painted by Elizabeth hang in the Royal Court.
