This view of the docks at Goole, on Humberside, is an evocative portrayal of shipping lying alongside the quays. Goole was founded in the 1920s for the export of Yorkshire coal. The warehouses, cranes and dockside furniture are portrayed in considerable detail. Goole is a busy port with shipping links to mainland Europe and the rest of the world. The docks handle large amounts of cargo, both import and export.
