Mainly pictures, some text descriptions, concerning events and human conditions during the Siege of Paris and Franco-Prussian War 1870-1871, including details of food supplies shortages; Pigeon Post, night scene, The Graphic 1871 Jan 21; 1870 Nov 5 - Dec 31, many artists' sketches sent back to the ILN in England by balloon post for engraving; 1881 disaster of the Saladin balloon; 1881 Coxwell's flight; German war balloon 1892, showing steam winding engine and gas cylinders; 1928 Nov 3-17, life aboard the Graf Zeppelin airship during her Atlantic flight.
