Mark Wright’s commission for the hospital is in the form of a series of four small and four large oil paintings of skies. They are one of 20 commissions by contemporary artists in the public spaces of Dorset County Hospital and are part of the ‘Bringing the Outside In’ project. Photographs taken around the Dorset coastline are the source for these images which function as documents of particular places at particular times of day but could of course also be any sky anywhere.
