A panel depicting the Roman corn goddess Ceres was built into the exterior east wall of Attwood's new east wing at Hylands in the 1840s. It is made from cement but appears to imitate Coade stone, a popular artificial ceramic. Indeed, the figure copies a favourite Coade stone subject etched by John Bacon, RA.
