This painting of Catherine Dickens was painted by the artist Daniel Maclise in 1847. Catherine is pictured in profile, stitching an over-mantel and wearing her engagement ring. The painting was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1848 and is a rare opportunity to see what Catherine was like in her 30s.
