This work depicts Captain Otway's Coach Service between Llandrindod Wells and Kington, 1875. Their service operated from 1st May to 25th September 1875. The coach left the Pump House, Llandrindod Wells, at 11am, reaching the Oxford Arms, Kington, at 1.45pm. The coach then set out for Llanrindod at 3.15pm, arriving back at the Pump House at 6pm. The service ran six days a week with Captain Otway usually acting as the coachman. Originally it was intended to run the service between Llandrindod and New Radnor, with those wishing to visit Kington travelling on the New Radnor – Kington rail service. However, the railway line was not ready in time resulting in the coach service being extended to Kington.
