Plants featured heavily in her work of the 1950s and 1960s.
She made 150 pencil drawings of wildflowers in her sketchbooks and painted flower arrangements acquired through her involvement with the Falmouth Floral Society. Although these works are beautifully painted they were unfashionable for the time and did not make much money.
