A bust thought to be Henry Purcell, formerly on the edifice of the Queen's Hall, London. The head and shoulders depicted in contemporary dress and full wig, looking left. The work is mounted on a plain square stone plinth dating from the 1970s, with egg and dart cornice and laurel wreaths on each of the four sides, and possibly retaining the original socle. The source of the bust could be the portrait of the composer in the collection of the Royal Society of Musicians, said to be by Closterman; the clothing and hair are similar.
