Brown/yellow observation of sunspots made by John Willis on 11 June 1905 at 6:50pm. On the reverse Willis has noted: "This view of o. was taken with considerable difficulty, as clouds were continually passing across the disk — very slowly and persistently. JW". o. refers to the astronomical symbol for the Sun. One of 275 pencil, ink and colour wash observations of the Sun and Jupiter made by Willis in Folkestone between 1879 and 1906.
