This painting was produced for the anniversary of the British Red Cross in 1995. It depicts members of the council, British Red Cross staff, celebrities and the work of the British Red Cross at home and abroad. The painting depicts some of the key events held to celebrate the 125th anniversary and activities of the organisation as follows, from top left: Pavarotti concert, the advertising campaign – 'Please drop in', poster advertising 'Carmen', lighting the beacon, the 125th logo, the Red Cross anniversary postage stamp, the urn from the Christie's exhibition, the Humanity rose, the fundamental principles, Fire Victim Support, transport and escort, international tracing, medical loan, the IFRC (International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies) building, Geneva, the ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross) building, Geneva, a view down Grosvenor Crescent, where the British Red Cross was based in 1995, aid to Rwanda, an individual food parcel for the former Yugoslavia.
