A view over Bridport. St Mary's church is depicted in pale blue on the right, with the roofs and houses painted using soft colours of blue, brown and green. The detailing has been highlighted in brown. St Mary's Church was probably rebuilt on an earlier site in the 13th Century. The chancel and aisles were rebuilt in 1860. The organ was given as a victory offering after the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.
