A group of two-dimensional black figures comprising a shepherd, sheep and a sheepdog set under trees on Bargate roundabout, commemorating the Sheep Fair that was once an important event in Boston. The original installation was made of wood and was donated by former businessman Garth Issac in 2015. These were replaced for metal versions after his death. It was designed by Jocelyn Lawman using the history of the site. Boston’s wealth was based on the sale of wool to Europe by Hanseatic merchants making the town the second largest port to London in the thirteenth century.
