A small bodice, for a child or religious idol in ivory satin with basque of ivory damask designed to be fastened across each shoulder and down the back. The front is embroidered with a flower spray design across the chest and two roses across the basque, worked in polychrome silk threads, metal purl and spangles, some of the metal being couched over card. A woven gold braid edges the bottom hem and the back is embroidered with a formal pattern across the basque part and up one edge of the opening. Although one section is missing the pattern can be seen on the linen lining, the other edge is randomly embroidered and does not match possibly reused material. There are eyelets across the shoulders and down the back opening for fastening and the work is lined with cream linen or cotton.
