The birdbath consists of a round bowl on a baluster stem with moulded foot. In the centre of the bowl is a cylindrical moulded plinth on which is mounted a small naturalistic statue. The statue depicts art collector Baroness Mount-Temple, who lived at the house in Beach Road, which is now the Babbacombe Cliff Hotel. The Baroness was a humanitarian and lover of animals who was involved in the RSPCA and the Anti-Vivisection Society. She is shown feeding a bird, which she did at her residence until her death in 1901.
