A large sculpture of a fish (a salmon). The scales, in various tones of blue, are printed with ceramic decals referring to historical events, people, and ephemera associated with the city. Describing the work, the artist says: 'I chose the Atlantic salmon as a symbol of renewal. The industrialisation that built Victorian Belfast had the side effect of polluting the Lagan so much that the salmon stopped returning to the river to spawn. Now that those industries have faded and the river has been cleaned up, the salmon are returning again. The work was being created during the year of the Good Friday agreement and was completed just before the millennium, and although it wasn't officially connected to either of these events, it was a time of great hope for the future in Belfast.
