Beneath the group are three putti, one of whom holds a feather, and the drapery of the Virgin Mary (the latter drawn as a separate figure before her ascended position). Drawn in pen and ink with hatching and cross hatching. Graphite is used for additional tone. In the lower right quarter is a pencil sketch of a Madonna and two children.
