Coal carving of a Bible contained in a leather pouch. The sculpture was made using the metal edge of a clog. The sculpture was given to the donor's father, Mr Albert Longley Senior, by the miner who made it. It is recorded that it was gifted during the 'bad' winter of 1947/1948 with the words 'you've got a bairn'. (A bad winter was recorded in 1946/1947, not 1947/1948.)
