(1779–1856) and published May 1805; by William Richard Beckford Miller (1769–1844) Albermarle (sic.) Street, London. A footbridge over the Kennet and Avon Canal, dated 1800, designed by the engineer John Rennie (1761–1821) and manufactured by the Coalbrookdale Company in Shropshire. The structure is a single span of cast iron, set on coped ashlar abutments with a skew of 45 degrees. Formed from seven segmental arches with panelled intrados, and a cornice which forms the plinth to the balustrade above; the balustrade is formed from separate, vertical trellised panels which support the continuous handrail.
