A pillar with three sides which forms a triangular prism shape. Black marble tablets face each side and are flanked at the corners by unpolished granite edges. The whole is topped at each corner with a sculpted metal 'angelic' feature. The memorial commemorates those from Barra/Barraigh and Vatersay/Bhatarsaigh who did not return from the First World War (71 names) and the Second World War (44 ames).They are listed by both their English and Gaelic names, their service, and their township.
