A white marble sculpture of Bacchus and Aridane, part of fireplace ensemble, usually sited between fireplace opening and Corinthian column. One of two statues each showing a pair of draped figures in different poses. After the Antique sculpture, 'Priapos/Dionysos and a Maenad' from a Roman statue of the Imperial Period, about first to second century AD, that is now in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, USA (ex-Smith Barry Collection at Marbury Hall, Cheshire).
