This scene of Bacchus marrying Ariadne is shown on the beach at Naxos. Bacchus wears a leopard skin, red cloak and rose wreath, and places a ring on Ariadne’s finger. Another woman, possibly a bacchante, a follower of Bacchus, holds a cloak to clothe the semi-nude Ariadne. A winged putto takes her crown to turn it into stars.
