Jann Haworth became a leading member of the British Pop Art movement in the 1960s, and almost its only female member, before taking a different turn in her artistic career and forming a group of artists known as the ‘Brotherhood of Ruralists’ with her then-husband, Peter Blake. The ‘Aunt Gurdi’ in the title comes from her father’s sister, Gertrude.
