Merton Russell-Cotes appears to have renamed this sculpture 'Una and a Lion' due to the production of a British £5 gold coin in 1839, depicting Queen Victoria as Lady Una from Edmund Spenser's poem 'The Faerie Queen'. The sculpture has also been recently renamed 'Bacchante Riding on a Lion', due to the presence of grapes in the woman's right hand.
