The sculpture consists of a bull terrier balancing on the top of four columns, which in turn balance on spheres fixed to a brass plinth. In its mouth the dog grips a circular ring. Cast in bronze resin from a clay mould, the figure of the dog is realistically modelled, giving the sense of this breed's dogged, uncompromising nature.
