This romantic Arcadian landscape, with its classical temple and atmospheric light, pays tribute to past masters of the genre such as Claude Lorrain and Richard Wilson. John Glover, one of the most important figures of the British Regency art world, travelled extensively in France, Germany and Italy before opening his own gallery in London in 1820.
