Portrait of Anna van Gelder, third wife of Michiel Adriaenszoon de Ruyter, Lieutenant-Admiral-General of the United Provinces. This portrait was purchased from a private Dutch collector in 2006. He had kindly brought it to the Museum's attention as the original pendant pair to BHC2996 of de Ruyter himself, which was presented to the Naval Gallery of Greenwich Hospital in 1870 by a Dutch donor, M. J.
